Thailand

Jesuit Mission, through Jesuit Refugee Service (Asia Pacific), funds projects among stateless and undocumented refugees from Myanmar living in quasi-permanent refugee camps on the Thai-Myanmar border as well as projects among prisoners in Thailand, many of whom are from Myanmar. JRS has worked in the refugee camps since since the arrival in the 1980s of refugees fleeing political instability and human rights violations in Myanmar. Hundreds of thousands of people remain internally displaced inside Myanmar or living precariously as undocumented migrant workers in neighbouring countries.
