Through our Empowering Lives program, we are building funds over the longer term to support our priority projects in education, assistance for refugees and displaced persons, and in emergency aid at times of conflict and natural disaster.
By supporting these funds with your philanthropic investment, you enable Jesuit Mission to flexibly and quickly respond where and when the need is greatest. You are helping to sustain programs and ensure that we can commit to the most marginalised communities for the time they need to achieve lasting change.
Our impact
Founded in 1951, Jesuit Mission actively works with partners with local Jesuits in more than 10 countries, primarily in India and South East Asia, to deliver community-led, sustainable programs that cultivate resilience and self-reliance for vulnerable communities.
We have also raised over one million dollars to support global crises through our Emergency Action Fund, which we used most recently to support refugees in Ukraine, conflict-affected communities in Myanmar and victims of the 2023 earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

We are seeking to grow our impact by serving more people year on year with quality programs that transform the lives of our most vulnerable brothers and sisters.
Our vision
Over five years from 2023 to 2027:
- We aim to invest $25 million across programs in more than 10 countries to meet the growing needs of our most marginalised sisters and brothers.
- We plan to double the reach of people who have access to basic services including water, healthcare and education.
- For education projects alone, we aim to raise over $10 million in 7+ countries reaching more than 175,000 people.
- We aim to directly benefit 100,000 refugees and displaced people by raising $4 million to provide ongoing programs that support education, livelihoods and skills training, psychosocial and physical health, and essential supplies.
- We seek to build a fund of $2 million for emergency response so we can respond quickly and effectively to immediate needs and support ongoing recovery and reconstruction.

- $9,500 can fund 10 village schools in India, educating an estimated 250 children for one year.
- $20,000 provides an emergency food package for 1,000 families displaced by the conflict in Myanmar.
- $23,000 offers 10 refugees in Indonesia with a year’s worth of business training, start-up grants and technical support to become leaders and businesspeople within their communities.
- $45,000 funds school supplies, teaching staff and classroom costs to provide one year’s education for 2,500+ students living in a refugee camp in Thailand.
- $50,000 ensures 200 students can access a year’s education in Cambodia.
- $100,000 could provide emergency food and water for over 90 Ukrainian families for two months.
- $120,000 we can cover the annual costs of 100 tertiary level students training to be future teachers in Timor-Leste.
