Donate – US foreign aid funding crisis: Refugee Emergency Appeal
On January 24, the US Government froze all foreign aid for 90 days, forcing Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) to suspend nine vital programs affecting over 100,000 displaced people.
Now, the US has completely cut funding for JRS projects in Thailand, Chad, Ethiopia, Iraq, and Uganda, leaving 77,000 vulnerable people without access to education, healthcare, and emergency aid.
The decision has left millions of vulnerable people worldwide facing an uncertain future, with essential services now suspended due to funding gaps.
As people of faith, we are called to be contemplatives in action responding with love, justice, and mercy where suffering is greatest. Inspired by Ignatian values, we stand in solidarity with our forcibly displaced brothers and sisters, recognising Christ in their struggle.
