The boys’ dormitory at Escola Secundária Católica Nossa Senhora de Fátima (NOSSEF) supports students from senior secondary school, providing a stable and nurturing environment where they can grow. Over the past two years, António’s journey has been one of personal, spiritual and social growth, shaped by the care and structure of the dormitory community.
António’s decision to join was inspired by his two older brothers, who had previously lived there. Seeing the positive changes in their lives gave him hope for his own future.

When he arrived, António was introduced to a daily routine centred on discipline, prayer and community life. Early morning prayer and regular participation in Mass quickly became part of his rhythm, helping him grow in both responsibility and faith.
“Living in the dormitory has truly changed me. I wake up early for prayer, attend mass, and follow a routine with my close friends that helps us grow both spiritually and personally. I’ve learned discipline, and it has made me a more responsible and mature person.”
Over time, António also experienced a shift in perspective. Where he once struggled with direction, he now carries a deeper sense of purpose and responsibility, especially towards his family.
“I’m incredibly grateful to the donors who made this opportunity possible. I come from a poor family, and without this dormitory, I wouldn’t have had the chance to learn, grow, and dream of a brighter future.”
