Young people in Timor-Leste like Pedrosa face enormous barriers to their education. 70 percent of families live in rural communities where access to education is limited. Many teachers have no formal training. Many students cannot achieve a passing grade by Year 9.

By breaking down the barriers to education, you can help light the way out of poverty for young people in Timor-Leste.

• $62 can provide a monthly living allowance, covering expenses like transportation, food, books and other essentials.
• $186 can support a tertiary student’s living costs for three months.
• $600 could fund the university fees for a tertiary student for one year of study.
